The semi-opacity of Kodatrace is the exact quality I am looking to achieve with either latex, silicone, or some other form of gelatinous-like material. Drawing with threads in this way is definitely something that I wish to persue although I want to start thinking about adding colours with custom dip dyed threads etc.
